What's included in a WestClean gutter clean
Every gutter clean includes a camera check, full vacuum clearance, a downpipe flush, a flow test and before-and-after photos.
- Camera inspection. We look inside the gutters first so you can see what's in there.
- Vacuum clearance. Every section is cleared from the ground with a high-reach gutter vacuum.
- Downpipe flush and test. All downpipes are flushed as part of the service. If a blockage is severe, we use specialist rods to clear it.
- Flow test. We run water through the system before leaving. If it doesn't flow freely, we keep working.
- Debris removed. The leaves, moss and silt are bagged and taken away.
- Before-and-after photos. We walk you through the result, and we can show you the camera footage.
What's not included (and what it costs)
Fascia and soffit cleaning and gutter repairs are not part of the standard gutter clean.
Fascia and soffit cleaning, from €70
Fascia and soffit cleaning is a separate extra, from €70, and it isn't included with a gutter clean. We can do it on the same visit, which saves you booking twice. Green algae and grime on white fascias is common in the West, especially near the coast. Read more in fascia, soffit and gutter cleaning: a fresh finish.
Gutter repairs
We can carry out minor repairs such as resealing joints and reattaching brackets, from €20. For major damage, we'll advise you on next steps rather than give a price on the spot.
What changes the price of a gutter clean
The price depends mainly on the size of the house, how many sides have gutters and any add-ons, and there's no extra charge for blocked gutters or gutter guards.
House size and length of guttering
The more sides of the house with guttering, the more there is to clear. A terraced house is €80, a semi-detached with front and back gutters is €80, a semi-detached with a side gutter is €100, and a detached house with gutters on 4 sides is from €120.
Number of storeys
We clean up to 4 storeys from the ground using our gutter vac and inspection camera, so height doesn't mean ladders or scaffolding.
How blocked the gutters are
One autumn's leaves come out quickly. Years of moss, silt and even small plants take longer, and badly blocked downpipes are cleared with rods. There's no extra charge for badly blocked gutters or downpipes that need rodding.
Access, conservatories and extensions
Gutters on a garage, extension or conservatory are priced as add-ons: a garage from €20, an extension from €15 and a conservatory from €20.
Gutter guards
If your gutters have guards fitted, they may need lifting to clean underneath. There's no extra charge for this. We don't fit gutter guards ourselves.
Where you live
There's no travel charge in Galway or Mayo, because we cover both counties every week. We're based in Tuam.
Gutter cleaning prices by county
Gutter cleaning starts from €80 for a terraced house in Galway, Mayo, Roscommon and Tuam, including VAT.
Galway (city and county)
From €80 for a terraced house. Homes in tree-lined areas fill up fast with leaves in autumn, so they often need a clean more than once a year. There's no travel charge, as we're in Galway every week. See gutter cleaning in Galway.
Mayo
Gutter cleaning in County Mayo starts from €80 for a terraced house with WestClean Property Care, the same starting price as in Galway and Roscommon. Every clean includes full gutter clearance, a downpipe flush and a flow test before the team leaves. Mayo's coastal homes often have salt and algae on their fascias and soffits too, so many customers add a fascia and soffit clean, a separate extra from €70. There's no travel charge, as we're in Mayo every week. See gutter cleaning in Mayo.
Roscommon
From €80 for a terraced house, with the same steps as everywhere else. See gutter cleaning in Roscommon.
Tuam
From €80 for a terraced house or a semi-detached with front and back gutters, with no travel charge because we're based here. See gutter cleaning in Tuam.
Why cheap gutter cleaning can cost more
A quick scoop with no camera check or flow test can leave the real blockage in place, and that costs more in the long run.
If the downpipe is still blocked, the water has nowhere to go. It spills over the gutter, soaks the wall, and over time leads to damp patches inside, rotten fascia boards and mould. That's why we test the flow before we leave and show you the photos. You can read more about how gutters block and the damage they do in our gutter cleaning guide for Ireland. Moss on the roof washes down into the gutters too, so if your roof is green, moss treatment or roof cleaning will keep them clearer for longer.
How often to clean gutters, and when to book in the West
Clean your gutters once a year in late autumn, or twice a year if your house is under trees.
If you've trees close to the house, a second clean in spring is worth it. It's also worth a look after a big storm, when gutters can fill up overnight. A yearly clean is usually quicker because there's less build-up, and subscription bookings get 15% off. See our autumn exterior checklist for what else to check before winter.
